Growing a Community of Early Childhood Caregivers
The P. C. Lee Global Centre for Early Childhood Development is committed to supporting caregivers who care for children aged 0-6 and promoting parent education. Our Training Hub provides comprehensive training programs for parents, professional caregivers, students, and volunteers in the early childhood care and education field. Our approach integrates cutting-edge theory in responsive care, emphasizing early brain development and fostering a collaborative learning journey between children and adults. Our training is interactive and accessible to individuals of various educational backgrounds. We regularly organize diverse caregiver training courses, short-term programs, and engaging workshops. Our ultimate goal is to empower young children to become independent learners, equipping them to face future challenges with confidence.
Parenting Skills Training Program
The program focuses on six major themes: growth, care, discipline, emotions, play and reading. It introduces the basics of responsive care — understanding and responding to children’s emotions, and guiding and empowering children. The course consists of eight sessions, each lasting for two hours. It welcomes childcare providers including parents, grandparents, and community caregivers to attend. Participants who have attended 80% of class and passed the assessment will receive a certificate. They will also have the opportunity to participate in internships at the center and potentially be hired as OneSky community helpers.

RESPONSIVE CARE WORKSHOP
The monthly course is an activity-based version of our caregiver training. It covers the essential topics of growth, care, discipline, emotions, play and reading. The course offers a platform for discussions, sharing, and engaging in practical activities. The workshop is open to both members and non-members. Participants who attend two sessions for each theme are eligible for exemption from certain segments of the caregiver training course.
PARENT EDUCATION SHORT-TERM PRACTICAL COURSE
The practical course focuses on responsive care and caregivers can bring along their children to class. Each month, a different theme will be explored, covering topics such as child care, emotions, play, socialization and language development, among others. The course equips parents with practical guidance on various aspects of childcare and also imparts parenting knowledge. Parents can immediately apply what they have learned in class. The course welcomes caregivers with children aged 0-2 and 3-6, and each session lasts for one hour. For further information, please reach out to the centre’s teachers.
Community Training Outreach Program
To better support family needs, improve the quality of childcare and allow caregivers to look for jobs, community children caregiving services have become increasingly important. To raise the standard of community caregivers, OneSky collaborates with various organizations and schools to provide outreach training for those who are currently providing or interested in caring for children.
OneSky’s programs focus on six major themes: growth, care, discipline, emotions, play, and reading. The course lasts for 16 hours and is suitable for childcare providers such as parents and community caregivers to attend. It also welcomes grandparents to join and learn about the latest childcare techniques.
OneSky provides outreach training services to charities, NGOs, childcare centers, schools, and other institutions interested in early childhood education. For inquiries, please call 35989338.
OneSky “Community Helpers” Project
We encourage caregivers who have finished the parenting skills training program to be our Community Helpers, sharing their experience with other caregivers in need. This enhances their nurturing skills as well as gives back to other parents in low-resourced communities. The project also welcomes caring volunteers with solid early childhood service experience.
We are dedicated to joining hands with community partners to provide support for underprivileged communities including but not limited to low-income families, ethnic minorities, and refugees. Through various events such as community outreach, workshops, parent-child activities, talks and sharing, we aim to strengthen networks by supporting those in need with quality programs.
We would love to connect with you and work together to provide support for vulnerable communities.
Please email us for community partnerships.
