OneSky celebrates Five Years of Benefiting Young Children in Hong Kong

Five years ago in 2020, OneSky for all children, a global NGO, started The P. C. Lee OneSky Global Centre in Hong Kong. Our mission was clear – to empower the caregivers who nurture children from low-income families, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to foster their little ones’ growth through parenting and early childhood care training.

Thanks to the dedication and concerted efforts of our community, we have empowered over 3,000 children and caregivers over the years. As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have walked alongside us, lending their time, resources and compassion to ensure that every marginalized child has the opportunity to thrive.

Together, we will continue to move forward, empowering more caregivers and nurturing young lives, one child at a time. Your support and generosity make this vital work possible. Thank you!

Susanna Lee HeadshotMessage from Executive Director

I am thrilled and grateful to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the P. C. Lee OneSky Global Centre in Hong Kong! This remarkable vision, crafted by our founder Jenny Bowen, revolves around love and learning. Jenny dreamed of a nurturing place where children could receive a better start in life, and where caregivers, parents, and partner NGOs could unite to discover effective ways to educate young minds.

Our centre stands as a beacon for sharing innovative ideas about early brain development and teaching methods. The Lee family’s unwavering support for Jenny’s vision, through their generous donation, has enabled us to invest in the future of children in Hong Kong. Continue to read

Meet our Community Helper - Auntie Pui Ling

If you have ever visited the P. C. Lee OneSky Global Centre, you have likely met Auntie Pui Ling. Her journey with us began when she witnessed her granddaughter, who has special educational needs, thrived at our centre. This inspired her to become a dedicated community helper, working alongside our teachers to support the children and their caregivers.

Her motivation stems from her own childhood experiences, which left her believing, "If someone had helped us back then, my fate might have been different." Learn more

FROM OUR COMMUNITY

I am interested in raising children, yet I often find that information is scattered and difficult to navigate. That’s why I particularly appreciate the coherence of OneSky’s courses. Sometimes, I feel like I discovered this center too late!

Watching the children learn to walk and talk brings me so much joy. They come over and call me “Auntie” for a hug, and wow, it truly delights me!

At home, I handle everything myself—from picking up tissue off the floor to cleaning up stray hairs. If I don’t have time to cook, I can dine here and then send my eldest daughter directly to school. It’s incredibly convenient.

Since having my daughter, I’ve struggled to find personal time. Without the OneSky Community Living Room, I wouldn’t have a place to socialize with others. I might go out less and would likely miss out on learning and upgrading myself.

Becoming a community helper at OneSky has allowed me to reconnect with society. Even working just a few days here fills me with great satisfaction.

My daughter is very active, and it’s reassuring to know she can play safely at the center. The children enjoy the slide and small bikes, and the teachers help instill discipline, teaching them how to wait in line before leaving. This greatly supports her development.

The traditional way of raising children didn’t pay much attention to communicating with them. Once they were fed, that was it; if they were difficult, we hit them. But now, we know we shouldn’t do this anymore.

OneSky is truly unique. The longer you spend there, the more treasures you uncover, like discovering a new world.

By participating in OneSky’s caregiver training, I am able to provide the best care for my son.
